Foolishly I made a dash for the Cache of the day in Swansea… I got soaking wet!
Quite the cunning cache… I won’t say any more!

We did four more caches in Pembrokeshire before returning to Pontardawe HQ.

We have decided to visit Pembrokeshire for a long weekend and were delighted to find a wealth of caches not to far from home.

This post is written in retrospect… we started the hobby on Wednesday after a friend told me about it on a trip to the Royal Welsh Show the previous day.
After some research I found that there was a cahce a small distance away from my home so as the school holidays had begun and tearing my son away from the Wii is always a challenge at the best of time a simple ‘Would you like to do a Treasure Hunt?’ was all it took to get us moving! (more…)
Just a quick hello to introduce this small blog.
Geocaching is for us a new hobby, but it has been around for a while.
It is the perfect hobby for those of us who are just a little bit geeky, but like the outdoors as well… it involves using a GPS navigator be it one of those hand held devices such as a Garmin, or with some free downloadable software, your GPS powered mobile phone (don’t confuse GPS - Global Positioning System with GPRS - which is the packet data service your mobile phone uses, they are not the same!)
